Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb and Rosewater ($7)

To be honest, I mainly like this because spraying my face with it is fun and feels good and smells nice. The spray is multipurpose. I use it pretty much at any step of my face routine.. before/after moisturizing, before/after makeup application, etc. It’s hydrating, refreshing, and soothing. Rosewater also has a number of benefits because it has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-aging properties. I don’t think I can speak to those benefits but it’s nice to know that spraying this stuff on my face may go beyond being fun and feeling good.

Essence Pure Nude Highlighter ($4.49)

I’m obsessed with this highlighter. It gives you the most perfect subtle glow. Swipe this onto the high points of your face (tops of cheekbones, down the bridge of nose, nose tip, etc.) and it’ll give your face that “lit from within” glow. This one is especially good for those like me who go for a more natural everyday look because there isn’t any glitter in the product. You can also dust this all over your face if you want to be glowy AF without looking like a grease ball (warning: would not recommend doing this if you’re a naturally oily person).

Colourpop Blotted Lip ($5)

My perfect lip product would be one in the ‘my lips but better’ color family with a comfortable formula that does not swipe off onto everything I eat or drink. The Colourpop blotted lip formula does just that, providing a beautiful diffused lip color that has a sheer matte finish without the need to blot. They’re also pretty pigmented so you can build up the color. I love the colors Drip which is a warm rosey mauve and Deja Vu which is a pink nude from the Alexis Ren collaboration. Fair warning though that this is a cheaper product and it has VERY cheap packaging. I’ve ordered 3 blotted lips at different times and all of the lipstick bullets have broken off from surviving small drops. I have to carefully open the cap, otherwise the broken lipstick comes flying out. It’s very annoying but it’s not a dealbreaker for me because I really like the product. Shipping is $5 in the US or free when you spend $30. If you don’t plan on spending that much though, sign up for email newsletters to receive a $5 off coupon. Side note:  The blotted lips are not completely transfer proof. When I want to wear something that is, I’ll swipe on a layer of the blotted lip and then top it off with Colourpop’s Ultra Blotted Lip in Zuma. The ultra blotted lip formula also has a sheer matte finish but is transfer proof and super comfortable!

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Nail Coat ($7)

I don’t paint my nails very often because I have very little patience for it and I despise chipped nails. However, when I do, I always use this clear top coat. It dries REALLY fast so I can resume normal activity in 5-10 minutes, leaves my nails shiny and glossy, and makes the polish last for 1-2 weeks without chipping. If you like painting your own nails, you need this in your life.

L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara ($9)

Best drugstore mascara I’ve tried so far. This is supposedly a dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($23), but I’ve never tried the Too Faced version as I’m not one to spend a pretty penny on mascara. The L’Oreal mascara has very cute packaging, lengthens lashes, and provides volume without ever getting clumpy. The wand has a lot of bristles which I’m assuming helps it to do its job.  My lashes end up looking thicker, longer, and feathery. Note that the non-waterproof version did a mediocre job of holding a curl but I always find that to be the case for my Asian lashes. I would recommend the waterproof version for those who have stick straight eyelashes but want super curled ones like me. Random note: I love the way the wand goes back into the tube… it just feels so luxurious. If you try this product out, LET ME KNOW IF YOU GET WHAT I MEAN!!!!
